KARAMAN Church hosts an evening of classical, sacred and contemporary vocal entertainment today as a tribute to former chairman of the church committee Vic Lundie, who died in the UK in September 2015.
Husband of TRNC blood donation campaigner Prue Lundie OBE, he was also a keen saxophonist and jazz musician.
An accomplished trumpet and flugelhorn player, he formed the Jazz Alliance quintet in May 2011, fronting the popular band which also comprised Kuzey Tarık on drums, Ivan Kramor on the saxophone, Kadir Evre on keyboards and Husnu Doğacan on bass guitar.
The 6pm tribute concert features sopranos Susan Carling, Iris Langford and Rae Tilley, mezzo soprano Katie Economidou and tenor Alan Carling, accompanied by pianists Zara Barkhoudarian and Deniz Sever.
Entrance to the Friends of Karaman Church event is by a suggested donation of 35TL or five euros per person and the proceeds will be donated to the church.
Bookings may be made via email to [email protected] as seating at the small venue is limited.
