Tehran-based usband and wife Asef Ebrahimi and Somaye Safavi joined Girne's Arty Art Gallery owner Ahmet Kale and his partner Sarp Sertel for Tuesday's launch at their new open-plan, two-storey Art Gallery Cyprus.
Mr Ebrahimi said: "I am happy to say that there is a renaissance of art in Iran right now. We both love the colours and landscapes of the island and we are very happy to be here tonight."
The award-winning artist first showed his work in North Cyprus at the Eaved House in 2010 and his new show with his photographer-turned-artist wife is themed on the poetry of Omar Khayyam.
The joint show offers 45 artworks including impressionist oil or acrylic Cyprus landscapes, classic traditional views, vibrantly colourful studies of flowers and a classic portrait of the late Tangül Çağıner.
The shows are organised in memory of Mrs Çağıner, the late wife of Acapulco hotelier Ünal Çağıner, and five of the artworks on show will be sold to support the SOS Children's Village and the Cyprus Turkish Child Protection Agency in her name.
The show will run until Saturday, July 29 and may be viewed on weekdays from 10am-6pm or on Saturdays from 10am-2pm at Art Gallery Cyprus -- on the Lefkoşa industrial estate, off the main Lefkoşa-Gazimağusa road near Pepsi Cola and Bayrak TV.
Mr Kale said: "We hope to become an art gallery both on and off the island with our new website for online sales which is currently under construction and we will have an official opening for the gallery in October."
