“The festival is very diverse offering everything from blues rock, rock, reggae, jazz and classical music featuring good local musicians from both parts of this divided island,” organiser and DJ Roland Eyerich said.
“Our event theme is that ‘cancer and music have no boundaries’ and all the musicians have agreed that the proceeds of this social and cultural project should be donated to the Help Those with Cancer Association, Tulips.”
The Bayrak International DJ added that Lefkoşa’s blues and rock band Rock Balance were the latest to sign up for the day one line-up of island-wide bands alongside Stingray, The Gentleman and Blind Man's Tale.
Rock Balance feature Engin Bahar on vocals with Ersun Hoca on lead guitar, Menteş İnatçı on bass and drummer Anıl Akgün.
The programme for Saturday, September 28, offers a five-band line-up of mixed music and styles featuring Blue Tears, Inchequin, Supernova Reggae Band, The Great Flood and Alper Cengiz and Friends.
Mr Eyerich said that the fest would wind up on Sunday, September 29, with a day of jazz and a classical music programme still being finalised with the help of cross-border opera artist Katie Economidou.
He added that invitation charity tickets would be priced at 50TL per day or 120TL for a three-day festival pass. More information on tickets and timings will be available in the coming weeks.
