A special ceremony in Girne’s Arkın University of Creative Arts and Design (ARUCAD) on Friday last week saw winners and runners-up receiving prizes in different categories that attracted a total of 300 entries written in Turkish and 100 in English.

“It was an amazing result to have so many schools and children taking part and we really want to thank the National Education Ministry for their support this year,” KAR chairman Margaret Ray told Cyprus Today.

“Such events are extremely important in raising awareness, responsibility and love for animals. It was very touching to see the children appreciate animals through poetry.”
