Önsoy goes ‘retrospective’

A retrospective exhibition of etchings by Beyarmudu-born artist İlkay Önsoy will be launched by President Mustafa Akıncı in Gazimağusa next month.

The show at the Rauf Raif Denktaş Cultural Centre will feature a range of his work spanning the period from 1973-2017.

UK educated, the artist went on to study at the Royal College of Art, Goldsmith's College, and won the David Murray design award before returning to teach on the island.

Mr Önsoy has also exhibited his work in two previous solo shows and featured with 22 well-known artists in the 2015 Gazimağusa show Eternal Alashiya, curated by Ayhatun Ateşin.

The exhibition launches at 6pm on Tuesday, March 6 and may be visited on weekdays from 8.30am to 4pm or Saturday from 8.30am to 1pm until Friday, March 16.
