TRIBUTE artistes hailed by critics as “the best thing since Queen” will bringing the biggest hits of legendary Freddie Mercury and his bandmates to a TRNC stage in September, in a Supper Club gig in aid of the Help Those With Cancer Association (Tulips).
Killer Queen – featuring lead singer Patrick Myers – will strut their stuff at Girne Amphitheatre on September 14.
The Supper Club's Laurence Floyd said organisers hoped to raise 85,000TL from the event to make a total donation of 100,000TL to Tulips following last month's Sing Baby Sing Stylistics tribute.
“It's going to be one super night!” he said.
"This concert will be huge and we are so excited as we have been working on it since last September.
“Hopefully we will be looking at a sell-out concert, different to our usual Supper Club events which often include a meal.
“This time it will be a concert of a much bigger band than those that we have ever booked before."
The concert, sandwiched between dates in Gibraltar and the UK, comes after the band – the longest-establshed Queen tribute -- played to 30,000 at Mons in France and this week began their second US tour of the year.
Myers’ “recreation” of Freddie Mercury has been described as “simply uncanny” by the UK’s Daily Mail newspaper and he group was described as the “kings of musical impersonation” by BBC One's Duncan Kennedy.
