Featuring guest soloists Kağan Korad on guitar and Tolda Salman on bandoneon — a type of accordion typically used in tango music — the 10-piece orchestra will be conducted by Ali Hoca.
The programme features Gabriel Fauré’s Pavane Op 50 and Astor Piazzolla’s Concerto for Guitar, Bandoneon and Strings (Introduction, Milonga, Homage to Leige: Tango).
The first concert takes place at Bellapais Abbey on Friday, while Kalkanlı’s Middle East Technical University hosts the second event next Saturday, April 7, at its Culture and Congress Centre Rauf Denktaş Hall.
Both concerts run from 8pm to 11pm and entrance is free.
