Young, old join for Xmas show

KYRENIA Amateur Dramatic Society (Kads) players present their new Christmas show, Sleigh Bells in the Park, this and next month as four new performers join old hands on stage.

Nine-year-old Loulie Ward will make her debut as trainee fairy Tabithaalongside “newbie” Derek Bradbury as Sugar Plum under the watchful eye of the Fairy Godmother played by Kads star Diane Peek.

The cast also welcomes debut performers Khin Pyu Dere as Holly Berry and Sandra Poole as Merry Christmas.

“Rehearsals are riding along nicely and ticket sales are galloping!” Kads director Beverley Westbrook said.

“Santa and Mrs Claus will be played by Horst Gutowski and Jacqueline McIntyre in this seasonal tale of their latest venturewith friends old and new in [Girne] but, as ever, things do not always go to plan.”

Characters Patch Workand Sue Grabbit are played by Ray Johnson and Gabriele Stoppkotte who, with Carol Abel asAnn Runn, step in to help save the day.

Ralph Kratzer will also be  “on duty” as Inspector Ralphfor a happy Christmas ending with Stephen Everett as Randolph Reynedier and James Gilroy as James Brock along for the ride.

The 7pm performances,including a Christmas meal and mulled wine,are set for Friday, November 29, at Korineum, with tickets priced at 130TL each; and on December 2, 3 and 4 at the Black Olive Café, where tickets will cost 95TL each.
