A potential witch hunt is brewing for the architects of “human errors” which contributed to the deaths of four young people and the destruction of homes and the environment.
Environmentalists, concerned citizens and professionals have raged for years at the absence of environmental impact assessment reports for major road and other state projects, riverbed construction, dumping and corruption — but it took the force of nature to make a difference.
Now the facts are out in black and white and action is promised. Human error could now become a euphemism for greed and carelessness, nepotism and ignorance, just as a car crash is described as “losing control of the car”.
