KTFF head slams govt over funding

TRNC football boss Hasan Sertoğlu has hinted at major developments for the coming season – but ripped into the government for failing to announce its funding plans.

Speaking last Saturday at the Financial AGM of the Cyprus Turkish Football Association (KTFF) he heads, Mr Sertoğlu told representatves of 26 of the country's 32 clubs there was “a lot of written communication going on” regarding “playing overseas in the near future” and there could be a “big surprise”.

However he blasted the National Unity Party-People's Party (UBP-HP) coalition as something out of a “cowboy film” and said: “I’ve never seen such a disgrace in all my life. Despite a month-and-a-half passing, the new government has still not made any [funding allocations] for the new football season . .
