Three brothers-in-law of one of Akacan's alleged victims, Zeki Asımoğlu, were alleged by Akacan to have approached him and threatened to kill him if he did not come up with the cash.
However the trio claimed in Girne District Court that it was property developer Akacan who had come to them, offering them money and houses to persuade their sister's husband, Mr Asımoğlu, to drop his complaint.
Akacan and his bodyguards, Orçun Özorçun and Vasıf Kurbaov, are accused of beating up businessman Erhan Başay while he ate with friends at a restaurant in January. Mr Asımoğlu was reported to have tried to intervene in the fight and ended up in intensive care in hospital. He was left with broken front teeth.
Mr Başay withdrew his complaint last month.
