Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu issued a stern warning to the EU after the bloc this week threatened to introduce sanctions against Turkey, because of its hydrocarbon activities in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Speaking earlier in a press conference, Mr Çavuşoğlu said that if the EU imposes sanctions then "we will take additional measures in the region".
"The EU should not enter into this sort of a mistake through such a nonsensical solidarity. [They should] teach the Greek Cypriot side to share, the steps that will be taken against us will backlash; we will take additional measures".
