On Thursday CESV members paid visits to Lefkoşa State Hospital’s ambulance station Girne State Hospital where they donated a number of laryngoscopy tubes, blood pressure testers, neck collars, surgical scissors, pulse oximeters, light pens, transfer stretchers, “webbing” stretcher straps resuscitators.
“The CESV 112 team was out again delivering more essential equipment . . . as part of an ongoing partnership between the CESV and the 112 [emergency] services of North Cyprus,” chairman Stephen Collard said.
CESV’s Ümit Karanar told Cyprus Today: “We have a last batch of equipment to give to the fire station in Girne and our donations for the year . . . will be complete.
“We have realised that people know more about us, especially the health centres, and in total we have already helped nine of them by donating medical equipment.
“We are happy that we can touch the lives of people in a positive way. . . We will now be looking at our plans for the New Year which include courses and training to be given to lifeguards and also establishing a navigation system at the fire stations.”
