Animal-lovers are preparing to discuss issues involving welfare of our “four-legged friends” at a public meeting scheduled for Friday, March 15.

On the agenda at the gathering, which is due to begin at 7pm in the Major Music Centre in Ortaköy, Lefkoşa, will be the effectiveness of the existing TRNC Animal Welfare Law and a proposed draft Bill that would strengthen it which is being proposed by Social Democratic Party (TDP) MP Hüseyin Angolemli.

Other topics up for discussion are to include the issues of dog licences, inoculations, microchipping, neutering and the indiscriminate poisoning, killing and mistreatment of animals.

The Major Music Centre is on Ali Rıza Efendi Sokak and a map is available on the FARC (Famagusta Animal Rehoming Canines) Facebook page.
