The celebration of her life, which coincided with her funeral in Crawley in the UK, was held at Lapta’s Silver Rocks, said to be her favourite restaurant.
The event was attended by her close friends who all raised a glass in her memory.
Mrs Muirhead, who was married to her husband Ian for some 29 years, died at her home in the UK after suffering from a “short illness” at the age of 72.
The couple, who have no children between them but did have from previous marriages, were well known for their collection of teddy bears and related memorabilia.
Mrs Muirhead had previously told Cyprus Today that her collection had begun in her 30s when her mother had given her an old teddy bear of hers.
Paul Sinclair, who has known the couple for nine years since they moved from the UK, paid tribute to his former neighbour.
“Although she [Maureen] was unwell since last year, she did get much more poorly in June and we were shocked that they had to go back to the UK for [her],” he said.
“It’s sad to hear her passing as she was such a great and social person to be around.”
