Group protests ‘unfair’ benefits treatment

Gathering outside the offices this afternoon, demonstrators held placards with slogans like, “private sector employees are second class” and “don’t favour employers”.

In his speech, Independence Path General Secretary Münir Rahvancıoğlu criticised the Social Insurance Department for taking a stance on the side of the employer during a time of economic crisis.

In a written statement, founding party member Cansu Nazlı said, “Despite the specifications outlined in the Social Security Law, the fact that perpetrators (employers not paying the premiums) have not paid a single fine is an approach that protects the employers and damages the administration”.
