KAR’s two-day visit at Necat British College

The Kyrenia Animal Rescue (KAR) Education team paid a recent, two-day visit to Necat British College (NBC).

KAR’s two-day visit at Necat British College

Made up of Maggie Smith, her Cyprus terrier Annie and Carole Widdison, the team gave presentations to 51 four-year-olds in Year 4, all of whom were keen to learn about animals — and to receive a Happy Pets workbook to take home at the end of the second day.

On the first day, the children were taught about what dogs and cats need to be happy, healthy and safe. A calculation was also made to show how quickly the number of cats increased if they were not neutered. Day two saw the children being told about how to keep safe around cats and dogs and how to recognise their body language.
