Society members of the Kyrenia Society Library gathered for their 2018 annual general meeting on June 2, at which chairman Sheila Mawhinney spoke of the library’s “continuing vibrancy”, with a stock of thousands of books, despite the number of expats moving away and increasing use of e-readers such as Kindle.
However, she said: “We still meet people who say they had no idea the library existed, so it is important to keep spreading the word that this excellent facility is here and available to everyone, even visitors, for a small membership fee.”
The Kyrenia Society Library is open from 10am to noon on Wednesdays and Saturdays behind Girne post office, beside the NCCCT charity shop and the BRS “Hut”.
