New branding for Büyükkonuk event

Büyükkonuk’s Spring Eco-Day will be rebranded on May 5 as the second International Akdeniz Gastronomy Festival, organised by new association Slow Food Komi Kebir.

The village municipality had voted last year to scrap the spring event due to the economic crisis, but last week approved the new festival, while the previously twice-yearly pioneering event will continue to be held in the second week of October.

New festival founder and municipality officer Gülay Komili said: “I decided that we couldn’t just let the Spring EcoDay go and that we needed a change.”
