NEW British Residents' Society (BRS) chairman Peter Wilkins has spoken of his “pride” at taking on the role and praised his predecessor as “a hard act to follow”.
Mr Wilkins was elected at the society's recent AGM, taking over from Danny Dugan, who stepped down after two years at the helm and a further three as treasurer.
Mr Wilkins told Cyprus Today: “[I am] looking forward to being chairman, heading up a settled, dynamic team leading on those issues that matter to so many of us.”
He paid tribute to the BRS committee, thanking “each one of them for giving up their time voluntarily in order to improve life for the BRS members”, and urged anyone interested in taking on an active role to get in touch, saying: “There is always a place for like-minded members to work with the committee.”
