Organised by the Turkish Motorsports Club and held over two-days, the event allowed Hasan to race in the ‘mini’ category – where he narrowly missed out on the third placing that would have seen him on the podiom.
Speaking to Cyprus Today, his father Fikri Macila, from Lefkoşa, said: “Hasan performed outstandingly well and it was the first time that he had raced on this track. He attracted a lot of attention from organisers there. He put on a very impressive performance – receiving praise from his coach Emre Ergökcen.”
“Although Hasan was third place for much of the race – he was unlucky to come fourth in the end, in a field of 10 competitors in his category.
The ‘mini’ category was won by Emir Tanju, with Hakkı Dorum second, and İskender Zülfikar in third place in a race that was described as being ‘bumper to bumper’.
Mr Macila said: “I am very proud of my son, and I foresee a fantastic future for him”.
