PM orders new report on Dome

Prime Minister Tufan Erhürman has stepped in after the owners of Girne’s Dome hotel said investors eyeing it up will need to plough 35 million TL into the establishment — a claim dismissed by the trade union currently leasing the premises.

The figure was included in a report prepared by the religious Evkaf foundation, owners of the site, which exposed a series of financial concerns with the current 10- year lease to the tourism workers’ union TES, which was due to expire on Monday.

Dr Erhürman brought the two sides together for talks yesterday after the dispute surfaced in Cyprus Today’s sister newspaper Kıbrıs and ordered his own experts to draw up their own report.
