A MAN in the UK has been charged with the murder of Mary Jane Mustafa, a British Turkish Cypriot whose body was one of two found in a freezer at an east London property last year.

Zahid Younis, 35, of Vandome Close, Canning Town, is due to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Friday accused of murdering both Ms Mustafa, 38, and Hungarian national Henriett Szucs, 34, a Metropolitan Police statement said.

Their bodies were found in a freezer in Vandome Close on April 26, 2019. Five days later Mr Younis was charged with two counts of preventing the lawful and decent burial of a dead body. He appeared at Kingston Crown Court on May 29, 2019.

The funeral for mother of two Mary Jane – real name Mihrican – did not take place until last month due to the length of time taken to carry out post-mortem examinations.

The dance teacher was buried at Tottenham Park Cemetery in Edmonton, north London, nine months after she went missing after leaving home to go to the shops with just £3 in her pockets and her mobile phone.

Mary Jane Mustafa’s mother was from Avtepe, in the Karpaz peninsula, and her father from Kaleburnu.
