A police spokesman confirmed that all fines and state levies based on the minimum wage had gone up in tandem with a Cabinetapproved rise in the official monthly minimum income from 2,620TL to 3,150TL.
Police in the capital stopped 43 offenders in just two hours last week, fining each 262TL — 10 per cent of the minimum wage at the time — and issuing 15 penalty points on their licences.
