The walkers turned up at 9.30am to donate 20TL each before a stalwart half dozen set off at 10.45am on the 10km-trek followed 15 minutes later by 35 5km challengers.
Annual Poppy Walk veteran Bob Howard, 94, was back again this year to compete in his wheelchair as the rain held off for the crowd of 41 entrants.
“We were blessed as the sun was shining,” organiser Rachael Lyes said. “Although the turnout was smaller this year, it was great fun and everyone got off on time.
“The walkers were the stars of the day, along with Glen and Sharon from Wonky Donkey who turned up early, performed free of charge and got everyone going with a repertoire of walking and running songs.
“The staff at Ozzie's Bar did a wonderful job with a fantastic barbeque and everyone enjoyed the raffle, particularly the winners of the 10 prizes which included meals for two, bottles of drink and an RBL teddy bear!”
