Public sector summer hours in force

They are on duty from 7.30am to 2pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Thursday working hours will be from 7.30am to 12.30pm followed by an afternoon shift from 1pm to 5pm.

The new arrangements will be in force until September 16 after they were approved by ministers and the government’s Personnel Department.

The working patterns will not apply to “24-hour essential services” while healthcare staff — except for those providing overnight care and others who are exempted by law — will work from 8am to 3pm daily.
