ANIMALS were the focus for a group of estate agents when they joined colleagues around the world in marking a corporate social responsibility day.

American Texas-based real estate firm Keller Williams has designated the second Thursday of each May as “Red Day” – which the company says stands for “renew, energize and donate”.

Its employees at branches in the TRNC spent last Thursday at the Lefkoşa Animal Shelter run by Lefkoşa Turkish Municipality.

Some 30 staff repaired the roofs of kennels at the shelter and painted the perimeter fence, as well as planting flowers and installing and building and painting a swing seat for visitors.

They also donated to the municipality a spraying machine for disinfecting the kennels.
