Students will protest demanding justice for Kennedy

According to the Justice for Kennedy Facebook event, the “peaceful” protest will take place on Friday, February 9, at 8.30am, outside of Gazimağusa District Court, where the hearing of Mr Dede’s murder will take place.
Students have also set up a Facebook group under the same name, in which they state: “Racists, criminals and violent people make no distinction between ethnic groups and cultures, languages and traditions when they decide to strike.
“Unite against racism and crime,” it says.
Further details of the horrific incident, in which the 28-year-old was abducted, beaten to death and left in the Çanakkale reservoir on January 29, were revealed at Gazimağusa District Court on Tuesday.
Nidai Şanlı, the suspected “instigator” of the attack, was remanded in custody for three days.
Police inspector Erkan Yahat told the court that the group had targeted the student to get back the 1,000TL that he had supposedly owed them, and that the initial intention was not to kill him.
The suspects will appear at the Gazimağusa District Court on Friday.
