Swedish tourist falls to death at St. Hilarion

It is believed Olsson Hans Goran, who was part of a group touring the castle, lost his balance and fell about 150 metres.
The incident happened yesterday between 1.30pm and 2.30pm.
According to a police statement, Mr Goran was among a group of tourists exploring the caste. His wife noticed his absence before the tour finished. When the man could not be found around the castle, Girne fire rescue, police and emergency service teams came and searched the mountainside on foot.

In the two hour search civil defence personnel used a drone camera to search the area from above and eventually found the body 100-150 metres below the north of the castle.

The body was brought to the Lefkoşa State Hospital morgue.

The man was in an area closed off to tourists before he fell, it has been claimed. The investigation continues.
