TC venue loses battle in British Kebab Awards

Britain’s best kebabs have been named — but there was disappointment for a TRNC-linked eatery hoping to be honoured as the No 1 in north and west London.

Testi restaurant, on Stoke Newington High Street, took the area crown at this month’s British Kebab Awards, beating the Cyprus Mangal owned by Mehmet Atom and managed by fellow Güzelyurt native Gökhan Bekir. Best kebab restaurant in south and east London went to Dagenham’s Lara Grill in the awards, launched in 2013 to recognise a sector that contributes over £2.8 billion a year to the British economy.
