TRNC goes pink in aid of Tulips

On last Thursday, the Blister Sisters fundraising team for Tulips - Sue Tilt, Carole King, Auriana Stevens and Lynda Hillard– visited Atleks Sanverler Secondary School with the charity’s founding chairman, Raziye Kocaismail, to join pupils and teachers for a “Pink Day”.

Necat British College marked the month with a fair where sweet and savory food was sold to raise 9,550TL for Tulips while teachers and some pupils wore pink. Other schools to launch fund and awareness-raising initiatives included the American Future College, Lapta Primary and Preschool, Karşıyaka Central Primary, Bellapais School, Turkish Maarif College, Mormenekşe Primary and Portokal Çiçekleri Preschool. Some even displayed banners proclaiming “I Love My Mum” to highlight the importance of early cancer diagnosis.

Yesterday (Friday), all State schools were visited by Tulips officials, with pink rosets being distributed to mark the official “Pink Day”.
