A campaign aimed at rooting out “undesirables” in the TRNC has been launched, as the latest step in the fight against crime and terrorism.
An agreement to work together in the fight against migration of known and wanted criminals and terrorists was signed on Thursday by Interior Minister Ayşegül Baybars and her visiting Turkish counterpart, Süleyman Soylu.
The “reciprocal” deal, which will become law with publication in both countries’ Official Gazettes, provides for “judicial, technical and administrative cooperation” to establish a network making the identities of criminals and suspects available at all TRNC and border posts so that they can be spotted quickly upon entry or departure.
