The stall usually raises some 1,400TL each week and it brought in 22,406TL between January and April, although its monthly takings in May reached 6,969TL while the figure for the first week of June was also an above-average 1,800TL.
Lynda Hillard, who took over the role of managing the stall two years ago, gave credit for the “excellent result” to generous donors and hard graft by some 20 volunteers who work on the stall and behind the scenes sorting items and pricing them for sale.
“It is a wonderful outcome, given that the stall is only open one day a week from 7.30am until noon,” she said.
