During a one-hour visit to President Mustafa Akıncı on Thursday, he scotched rumours that part of the buffer zone Ledra Palace Hotel was being vacated for use by the US military or the Greek Cypriot administration.

Ms Spehar said UN troops living in the hotel were to be moved elsewhere during much-needed repairs, but would continue to use the building for meetings and events.
