Woodwork tools for Rehab centre

The British Residents Society (BRS) has donated three power tools for use in woodwork classes at the Adult Special Needs Rehabilitation Centre in Karakum.

Students at the day centre, which cares for some 26 people between the ages 18 and 43, are now using the hand drills instead of worn, 10-year-old ones to produce handicrafts.

The drills, which cost 1,600TL with a special discount from the Spark Akasya DIY store, were presented to centre director Leyla Yorgancıoğlu Usta by BRS health and welfare secretary Julian Mawdesley last week.
