Cemal Erdoğan was arrested following the accident on Thursday March 29, which happened at around 3pm.
He had been heading from Tatlısu to Geçitkale when a cement trailer truck coming from the opposite direction, driven by Cengiz Menekşe, 36, began to skid on the rainsoaked surface.
The HGV slid into the side of Mr Erdoğan’s Mercedes, pinning it against a roadside barrier and temporarily trapping its occupants inside.
Panicked Mr Menekşe, of Ziyamet, was reported to have then rushed to Mr Erdoğan’s side to check if he was hurt.
It is claimed that Mr Erdoğan then launched a “foul-mouthed tirade” against Mr Menekşe before punching him — an allegation said to have been confirmed by a passenger in the car named only as “MA”.
