Every Monday, there is an hour-long session of archery competition which is accompanied by easy-listening background music. The event last week saw Steve Edwards win the men’s category with 114 points and Carol Dobey coming first among the ladies with 65 points.
Organiser Paul Kellett said: “Ever since we started last January, interest in archery in a relaxed, social setting has grown. We usually have up to 18 people shooting 18m, the standard distance for beginners. It’s great to see people of all ages, from teenagers to 80 year-olds, having a really great time.”
Mr Kellet said regular practice sessions are also held on Thursday evenings and everyone is welcome to come along then, or on Mondays, when archery begins at 6pm.
