Trad tea for charity

A traditional English tea-party was the first hosted by the British Residents Association (BRS) and is to be followed by other events to raise funds to buy medical equipment for Girne State Hospital.

Forty-one BRS members and guests attended last week’s party at Meryem’s Hotel in Çatalköy where they tucked into sweet and savory pastries with tea or coffee.

New events secretary Sandie Mansell, who took over the position in March, said: “This was the first time the BRS had held such an event and it went very well, being booked."
