West End arrives at The George

LONDON’S West End recently came to Girne when more than 200 people descended on The George Café to be entertained free-of-charge by performers from the capital.

Customers ate and drank the night away while listening to singers who had taken part in musicals in London’s theatre-land, including Johnny Cash and Roy Orbison tribute acts.

Venue owner Özlem Ferhaoğulları said: “It was a very good and very busy night which went on until after midnight thanks to the performers who put on a fantastic show.

“It was their first time at The George and they were a big hit.

“We don’t have regular entertainment events but we do try to put on free shows for our customers once in a while.”
