Ex-Yenicami player Olayinka hailed 'the new star of Europe'

Twenty-one-year-old Peter Olayinka Oladeji, who wore the Yenicami strip while scoring 15 goals – eight in 21 league games and six in the Federation Cup -- to make his mark in TRNC football is reported to be "shining" on the continent, according to media reports.
He transferred to Albanian team Skenderbeu ın the 2014-2015 season, playing against Turkish champions Beşiktaş in the European League, before signing with Belgian side Ghent in a 1.1 million-euro deal. He retains a Turkish Cypriot agent, Erdem Konyar.
Nicknamed "Eye" – meaning “Bird” – the Ibadan-born, 1.88m-tall striker is currently on loan to fellow Belgian First Division side Zulte Waregem, and was thrilled to score his first goal for them in a 4-0 victory last Friday that briefly took the team to the top of the table.
After four barren first team games, he came on in the 88th minute away to Standard Liège to score one goal and help set up another.
Score Nigeria sports news quoted the player as saying he was "delighted to finally get off the mark and lift Zulte-Waregem to the top of the Belgian league".
"As a forward, you always want to score, so I just wanted to bring energy to the match and hopefully change the game," he said.
"I just got myself in a good spot and thankfully the ball came to me and it wasn't a difficult finish.
"Three points against anybody away from home is a great achievement. We are doing well right now so we're just trying to stay consistent in the league in order to keep it going."
He emphasised that his main focus was "to help the team any way I can, even if it means I do not find the net myself".
"I haven't scored as many goals as I'd have liked, but I feel at this club I've got players around me that can utilise my strengths perhaps a little bit more," he said.
"I know my role in the team and whether I'm scoring goals or not I'm always looking to contribute positively during games."
