The TRNC national side have made it through to the last two of the 16-team competition, an alternative for teams which are not members of football’s official governing body, Fifa.

They beat Conifa European champions Padania – another name for the Po Valley plain in the north of Italy – 3-2 in a thrilling semi-final on Thursday.

North Cyprus will now face Karpatalya – a team representing ethnic Hungarians from Ukraine – once again in tomorrow’s final, which kicks off at 6pm UK time (8pm local time) at the Queen Elizabeth II stadium in Enfield.
