Woman seriously injured while breaking up fight

Ela Satır suffered a serious wound beneath her left armpit during the incident on 20 Temmuz Kordon Boyu Caddesi at around 11.30pm on Saturday, October 17.

According to the Police Press Office, an argument over a financial dispute between two men, identified as M.E.S., 40, and H.D., 39, escalated into a fight involving punches and kicks.

Police allege that M.E.S., who was unlawfully carrying a knife, stabbed Ms Satır when she approached to intervene.

She received initial treatment at Girne Military Hospital before being transferred to Dr Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Lefkoşa, where she remains under observation in the cardiovascular surgery intensive care unit.

M.E.S. was arrested, while legal proceedings were initiated against H.D. The investigation continues.
