Electric, hybrid and hydrogen vehicles exempt from emissions tests
The change, published in the Official Gazette, expands the categories of vehicles that are not required to undergo exhaust emissions inspections.
Under the amendment to Article 4 of the regulation, fully electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles and hydrogen-powered vehicles have now been formally added to the list of exemptions.
The amendment was prepared by the Council of Ministers under Article 31 of the Environmental Law and came into force following its publication in the Official Gazette.
The change means owners of vehicles falling within the three categories will no longer be required to obtain an exhaust emissions test as part of the existing emissions control regime.
