Motorcycle Safety Barriers Among Proposals Discussed with Transport Ministry
Ministry Undersecretary Murat Salel met with representatives of motorcycle groups to address safety concerns facing riders on North Cyprus roads, including road infrastructure, traffic arrangements and the risks posed by existing roadside barriers.
The discussions also covered measures to improve motorcyclists’ visibility in traffic and raise awareness among car drivers of the dangers faced by two-wheeled road users.
According to Salel, motorcycle representatives shared their concerns and recommendations, with particular emphasis on protective barriers and measures to reduce the risk of accidents and serious injuries.
The meeting also highlighted the need for greater awareness and cooperation between motorcyclists and other road users.
However, the ministry did not announce any concrete decisions, funding commitments or timetable for introducing the proposed safety improvements.
