GİKAD chair attends global congress

Dr İçim Çağıner Kavuklu, chairperson of the Turkish Cypriot Women Entrepreneurs Association (GİKAD), has described representing the association and Turkish Cypriot women at FCEM’s 73rd World Congress in Prague as a great honour.

In a post on her social media account, Kavuklu said the gathering brought together women entrepreneurs and leaders from around the world, providing valuable opportunities to exchange experiences, build connections and see the strength of women’s entrepreneurship across borders.

She thanked SEDEFED President Emine Erdem and KAGİDER President Esra Bezircioğlu for helping make GİKAD’s participation possible.

The congress also marked a leadership transition, with Patricia Isabel García taking over as FCEM World President from Marie Christine Oghly during a flag and presidency handover ceremony.

Kavuklu congratulated García, expressing hope that her presidency would strengthen women’s entrepreneurship worldwide and encourage international cooperation. She also thanked Oghly for her contributions and work during her time in office.

“We will continue working to make Turkish Cypriot women’s voices heard on wider platforms and to support the development of women’s entrepreneurship,” Kavuklu said, emphasising the importance of solidarity and shared goals.
