The planned 2027 agreement was among the issues covered during Üstel’s visit, which also included a separate meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

Üstel and Yılmaz reviewed projects being carried out in the TRNC with Türkiye’s support, ongoing investments and regional developments.

The discussions with Fidan focused on the Cyprus issue and the latest developments in the region, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.

It said the meeting reaffirmed Türkiye and the TRNC’s commitment to a two-state settlement based on the sovereign equality and equal international status of the Turkish Cypriot people.

The statement added that Ankara and Lefkoşa were pursuing this policy in full coordination.
