CTP approves prospective candidates ahead of December 6 election

The party’s assembly endorsed the names at an evaluation meeting, paving the way for CTP members to vote on Sunday, October 11, to select their candidates and determine their positions on the party’s district lists.

Under the party’s rules, CTP leader Sıla Usar İncirli will head the Lefkoşa list, while secretary-general Mehmet Kale Kişi will take first place in Girne. Neither will be subject to the internal selection vote.

The approval follows the announcement of the party’s separately designated quota candidates.

Campaigning under the slogan “Şimdi Söz Bizde” — “Now it’s our turn to speak” — the CTP said its prospective candidates represented a range of professions, backgrounds and experience.

Party members will have the opportunity to meet those seeking nomination at a series of district events ahead of the October 11 vote.

The programme begins at the Dome Hotel in Girne on Monday, October 5, at 7pm. Prospective candidates for Güzelyurt and Lefke will meet members at Güzelyurt’s Atatürk Cultural Centre (AKM) on Tuesday, October 6, at 7pm.
